October 14, 1960

One of the things I am most proud of is my involvement with Peace Corps–as a Volunteer, Recruiter and RPCV (Returned Peace Corps Volunteer/alumni).

53 years ago today, presidential candidate John F. Kennedy stood on the steps of the Union at the University of Michigan and challenged students to do more.

With just 381 words he outlined and voiced the spirit of what was to become the Peace Corps.
